Job description

What You’ll Do

  • Design test plans and strategies to thoroughly characterize packet-optical transport hardware and systems.
  • Execute system-level test suites to ensure hardware and software performance aligns with target technical specs.
  • Document testing progress and outcomes, actively assisting in defect investigation and bug resolution.
  • Build, run, and troubleshoot automated test cases.
  • Explore and implement modern methodologies for software verification and validation.
  • Contribute to scaling the test automation framework and improving overall QA workflows.
  • Review technical design documentation across all phases of the product design and verification lifecycle.
  • Deliver technical feature and product walk-throughs for cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Maintain, configure, and monitor lab testing environments.


What You Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in telecom equipment verification and test automation.
  • Solid background in testing telecom hardware, software, and end-to-end network systems.
  • Hands-on experience with test management software for telecom equipment (switches, routers, transponders, or muxponders).
  • Experience with industry protocol test tools like Spirent, Ixia, Viavi, or EXFO.
  • Experience with Network Management System (NMS) testing via NETCONF/RESTCONF and SNMP.
  • Strong grasp of XML/JSON schemas, data syntax, and validation for NETCONF/RESTCONF interfaces.
  • Solid experience testing Layer 1, Layer 2, and Layer 3 networking protocols.
  • Demonstrated ability to build, maintain, and execute automated regression test suites.
  • Practical proficiency with Git/SVN, Linux/Windows environments, and tools like Jira/Bugzilla and TestRail.
  • Strong root-cause debugging skills, cross-team communication, and adaptability to new technologies.


Good to Have

  • Hands-on experience with optical transport/WDM systems, ROADM architectures, optical transponders/muxponders, or optical Ethernet/OTN testing.
