Head Of Engineering

Key Responsibilities

• Own and execute the company’s technical strategy with a capital-efficient mindset.

• Design and evolve a scalable, cost-conscious SaaS architecture.

• Remain deeply hands-on in the codebase.

• Make pragmatic build-vs-buy decisions aligned with customer and revenue impact.

• Establish engineering best practices without over-engineering.

• Oversee cloud infrastructure, performance optimization, uptime, and cost controls.

• Hire, mentor, and manage a lean engineering team or contractors.

• Partner closely with product and go-to-market teams.

• Ensure security, data integrity, and long-term maintainability.

• Act as a technical and operational partner to founders.

Required Experience

• 10+ years of software engineering experience.

• CTO, Head of Engineering, or lead technologist experience in a bootstrapped environment.

• Strong full-stack background and SaaS delivery experience.

• Deep understanding of system design and cost management.• Hands-on ownership of infrastructure and DevOps.

• Founder-level ownership mindset.

Nice to Have

• AI/ML or LLM experience.

• Marketing tech or SMB product background.

• Founder or co-founder experience.
