Job description

What You’ll Do

  • Architect, Develop & Scale Systems: Design and implement scalable, fault-tolerant distributed systems. Build REST/GraphQL APIs, background workers, and data pipelines using tools like Celery, Kafka, or Airflow.
  • Lead Backend Development: Spend roughly 20% of your time guiding and mentoring junior backend engineers while driving the team’s technical roadmap. Guide engineers in best practices for distributed design, debugging, and scaling.
  • Ensure Performance & Reliability: Optimize performance and ensure high availability across multi-node environments.
  • Collaborate with ML/AI Teams: Integrate backend with LLM serving, vector retrieval, and reinforcement learning pipelines.
  • Contribute to DevOps: Maintain CI/CD pipelines and containerized deployments (Docker, Kubernetes).


What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years of backend or distributed systems experience
  • Strong in Python, TypeScript, or Node.js.
  • Deep understanding of message queues, asynchronous systems, and scaling strategies. Experience with streaming systems like Kafka, RabbitMQ, or Pub/Sub.
  • Experience with databases like PostgreSQL, Redis, MongoDB, Milvus, and Elasticsearch, including familiarity with vector databases and semantic retrieval.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and infrastructure automation.
  • Familiarity with LLM systems, agent orchestration, or event-driven architectures.


Nice-to-Haves

  • Demonstrated leadership experience in guiding, mentoring, and supporting the growth of backend engineers.
  • Contributions to open-source distributed systems.
  • Understanding of multi-agent AI and reinforcement learning pipelines.
