Data Steward

The selected candidate will be coordinating with the business teams and serving as a liaison between the data and business teams. Job Responsibilities:

• Identify, classify, and prioritize data concerns, then work to fix those issues
• Collect BI and analytical requirements for each of the business lines under consideration, and work closely with the business analysts to turn these requirements into written requirement specifications
• Take charge of ensuring that every item of metadata you add to the data catalog has descriptions, tags, classifications, and security tags
• To guarantee that all data created from diverse source systems comply with quality requirements, lead initiatives under the direction of the Head of Data Governance and Quality
• Ensure that all of the organization's data assets have metadata loaded into the data catalog
• Engage the business units/data champions frequently to learn about their data quality needs and/or problems
• Utilize an issue management tool to make sure the requirements are being followed
• Initiate initiatives to address data quality concerns across the company 
• Participate actively in the deployment of data quality controls and conduct routine data quality standards monitoring
• Provide workshops and training on topics related to data management
• Ensure that all of the metadata entered into the data catalog is accurate
• Own the Business Glossary, be responsible for maintaining it, and serve as its custodian to make sure all business words are properly defined and that its relationship to sources is apparent so that it can be used as a resource by the technical stewards to create a data dictionary

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
• At least 5+ years of relevant experience as a Data Steward
• Extensive experience working with Informatica
• Demonstrable experience with Data Governance and Data Management
• Comprehensive knowledge of important data points
• Prior working experience implementing data management and governance projects with enterprises and data champions
• Prolific experience working with MS Excel, SQL, and Power BI 
• Thorough understanding of and familiarity with data management policies
• Strong understanding of metadata management and data quality
• Familiarity with Master and Reference data management is nice to have
• Some working experience in metadata management and data quality/profiling technologies like Informatica or Collibra is desirable
• Exceptional ability to think critically and solve problems
• Excellent English communication skills, both conversational and written
